Diplomatic Academy encourages team implementing Vietnam-RoK ODA project

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2026) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), the Diplomatic Academy organized visits, encouragement, and gift-giving to the team of officials, engineers, and workers directly implementing the project “Enhancing Training and Research Capacity with ODA and Counterpart Funds at the Diplomatic Academy” funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The activity took place in an atmosphere of excitement and responsibility, reflecting the Diplomatic Academy's concern for the workforce directly executing the project, thereby boosting morale and motivation for units to strive to complete tasks during this critical phase of the project.

On behalf of the Diplomatic Academy, Mr. Duong Thanh Binh, Deputy Chief of Office, in charge of the Academy Office, inquired about working conditions, acknowledged, and highly appreciated the responsibility, dedication, and efforts of the team of officials, engineers, and workers during the project's implementation.
The Academy's representative emphasized that each completed component at the site contributes to ensuring the overall progress while serving the goal of enhancing training, research capacity, and organizing diplomatic activities of the Diplomatic Academy in the future.
In this spirit, participating units in the project are urged to continue promoting responsibility, enhancing coordination, focusing resources, and strictly adhering to labor safety requirements, technical standards, and quality control.
The overarching goal is to ensure the project is implemented on schedule, safely, with quality and efficiency, aiming for completion, handover, and operation by 2026.
The project “Enhancing Training and Research Capacity with ODA and Counterpart Funds at the Diplomatic Academy” is one of the meaningful development cooperation programs between Vietnam and South Korea in education, training, and human resource development.
With the support of the Republic of Korean Government and KOICA, the project contributes to improving infrastructure capacity, training quality, research, and international integration of the Diplomatic Academy, thereby supporting the development of a diplomatic workforce that meets the increasingly high demands of the country in the new context.
Within the project's framework, the expansion, upgrading, and renovation of the Auditorium is a crucial component.
Upon completion, the facility will create a modern space for conferences, training, and organizing diplomatic events, with a multifunctional auditorium of approximately 600 seats, a synchronized technical equipment system, along with multimedia classrooms and functional spaces for training, research, and diplomatic activities.
The project goes beyond merely completing infrastructure, serving as concrete evidence of the effective development cooperation between Vietnam and Republic of Korea, as well as KOICA's support in enhancing the training and research capacity of the Diplomatic Academy.

The Auditorium component commenced in March 2026. After approximately five months of implementation, many important tasks have been completed, and the project is entering a phase requiring high concentration in construction organization, mobilization of manpower, materials, equipment, and coordination among parties.
The Diplomatic Academy, KOICA, consulting units, and contractors are maintaining a tight coordination mechanism, regularly reviewing progress, promptly addressing technical issues, and synchronously implementing components. The parties are determined to accelerate progress based on full compliance with technical, quality, and safety requirements.
During this process, labor safety, project quality, and investment efficiency continue to be identified as consistent requirements that cannot be compromised for progress.
The visit and encouragement activities were organized on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector, thereby contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and dedication among the team involved in the project implementation.
Building on the 81-year tradition of building, maturing, and serving the country of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector, the staff of the Diplomatic Academy, along with partners and units participating in the project, continue to strive, overcome difficulties and challenges, enhance coordination, and effectively implement each task, aiming to complete the project by 2026.
Once operational, the project's components will contribute to modernizing infrastructure, enhancing training, research capacity, and organizing diplomatic activities of the Diplomatic Academy, providing a foundation for the Academy to continue playing its role as a strategic training, research, and foreign affairs human resource development institution of the country.
The project is expected to become a positive milestone in Vietnam-Republic of Korea cooperation, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries through specific, practical, and sustainable cooperation results in education, training, and human resource development.
