Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang attends celebration of Saudi Arabia's 96th National Day
WVR - On the evening of September 23, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang attended and delivered a speech at the 96th National Day celebration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed her honour to represent the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the event, extending the warmest congratulations to the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Vietnam, the Saudi Arabian community of friends, and through the Ambassador, to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Government, and the people of Saudi Arabia.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang emphasised that over nine decades ago, under the leadership of King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the unification of Saudi Arabia laid the foundation for the formation and development of the modern Kingdom.
Praising Saudi Arabia's efforts, the Deputy Minister noted that the Kingdom increasingly plays a positive role in promoting dialogue and stability in the Middle East, while also making significant contributions to addressing common international community issues.
According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang, Vietnam follows and supports Saudi Arabia's development process with respect and appreciation. Despite different approaches, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia share a vision, aspiration for development, and determination to enter a new phase of development.

Addressing Vietnam-Saudi Arabia relations, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang appreciated the cooperation journey the two countries have built over nearly three decades since establishing diplomatic relations in 1999. The friendship and cooperation between the two countries have been increasingly strengthened, expanded, and deepened in many areas.
The Deputy Minister emphasised that in the context of many important mechanisms and systems for international life, from trade routes, supply chains to principles of respecting the law, facing numerous challenges, enhancing openness, dialogue, and cooperation becomes even more necessary.
On the basis of mutual respect, understanding, and a shared goal of peace, stability, and prosperity, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have ample room to enhance cooperation. Both countries are entering new development phases, with Saudi Arabia implementing Vision 2030 and Vietnam promoting development goals in the coming decades.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang believes this is an opportune time for the two countries to continue elevating bilateral relations to new heights, while also enhancing cooperation between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries.
Recent exchanges between the two sides have opened up many promising areas of cooperation. The Deputy Minister expressed a desire for continued high-level visits and contacts, thereby concretizing cooperation directions into practical results.
According to the Deputy Minister, with the commitment of leaders and the efforts of the people of both countries, Vietnam-Saudi Arabia relations have great potential for continued strong development. Both sides can promote trade growth, expand investment, and implement large-scale, symbolic projects in fields such as energy, science and technology, infrastructure, Halal industry, and people-to-people exchanges.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam wishes to strengthen closer cooperation with Saudi Arabia and partners worldwide for peace, stability, and cooperation in the Middle East, Asia, and globally.
In the new era, Vietnam is determined to not only be a friend and reliable partner but also a more active, proactive, and responsible member in addressing common issues with the international community.

Speaking at the celebration, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Vietnam Thamer Algosaibi emphasised that National Day is an occasion to honour the unity and cohesion of the Saudi Arabian people, while reflecting on the journey of building and developing the country since the Kingdom was unified in 1932.
The Ambassador noted that over the decades, Saudi Arabia has undergone profound transformations, becoming a modern, ambitious nation while preserving its values and historical heritage. Under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the Kingdom continues to promote economic diversification, expand opportunities for its people, foster innovation, and aim for sustainable, prosperous growth.
Praising Vietnam's recent development achievements, Ambassador Thamer Algosaibi stated that these are testament to a dynamic, growing economy and Vietnam's ambitious development directions; expressing confidence that Vietnam will continue to achieve many accomplishments, enhancing the lives and prosperity of its people.
Regarding Vietnam-Saudi Arabia relations, the Ambassador highlighted the political will of the leaders of both countries, the practical cooperation results achieved in recent times, and the potential of both sides, within the framework of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Vietnam's development goals by 2030 and 2045, which will lay the foundation for bilateral relations to continue to develop to new heights.
In reality, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have shown a desire to promote more substantive cooperation, including in areas such as energy, trade, investment, technology, and Halal. During the meeting between Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on September 13, Vietnam proposed that the two countries continue to enhance high-level exchanges, promote energy cooperation, trade, market opening, and investment; Saudi Arabia also expressed readiness to collaborate to concretize these directions.

Saudi Arabia National Day is celebrated annually on September 23, commemorating the unification of the Kingdom in 1932 under the leadership of King Abdulaziz Al Saud. In 2026, Saudi Arabia celebrates its 96th National Day.
The celebration is an occasion for both sides to reflect on the positive developments in Vietnam-Saudi Arabia relations, reaffirming the determination to continue effectively exploiting potential, strengths, and new cooperation opportunities, contributing to peace, stability, and development in each region and globally.
