Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang welcomes German Federal Parliament Member Rolf Mutzenich
On the morning of August 18, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang welcomed Dr. Rolf Mutzenich, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Federal Parliament, during his working visit to Vietnam.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang welcomed the visit of German Federal Parliament Member Rolf Mutzenich, affirming that Vietnam regards Germany as one of its leading partners and wishes to further deepen the Strategic Partnership. Providing information on Vietnam's situation and development orientation in the new era, the Deputy Minister emphasised Vietnam's efforts to maintain double-digit economic growth, achieve two centennial goals, and aim to become a developed, high-income country by 2045. Additionally, she highlighted the promotion of a new development model driven by science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and the significant role of the private economic sector.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam welcomes and is ready to facilitate German enterprises in expanding investment and business in Vietnam, especially in areas where Germany has strengths and aligns with Vietnam's new development orientation, such as infrastructure, smart ports, renewable energy, high-speed rail, science and technology, and high-quality human resource training.

Dr. Rolf Mutzenich expressed his impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, affirming that the German Federal Parliament is always interested in promoting bilateral relations to match the level of a Strategic Partnership and is ready to accompany Vietnam in its new development phase. He noted that the Vietnam-Germany relationship still has much potential and room for deeper development, primarily through strengthening political trust, increasing delegation exchanges, and promoting cooperation between the two parliaments.
The Deputy Minister proposed enhancing cooperation through party channels, particularly promoting relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). The German side expressed interest in promoting dialogue between the SPD and the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Deputy Minister also suggested enhancing the exchange of legislative and supervisory experiences between parliamentarians and specialized committees, and requested that the German Parliament continue to support and facilitate the Vietnamese community of over 200,000 people living, studying, and working in Germany.

Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in education and training, increase student and researcher exchanges, and train high-quality human resources; expand cooperation in labor, science and technology, innovation, and defense and security; and enhance delegation exchanges and parliamentary cooperation.
Both sides also agreed to continue coordinating in multilateral mechanisms, promoting Vietnam-EU and Germany-ASEAN relations, effectively exploiting cooperation potentials, and contributing to making the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership increasingly substantive and effective.
Discussing international and regional issues of mutual concern, both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and building trust; supporting multilateralism with the United Nations playing a central role. They affirmed the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea; and resolving disputes peacefully in accordance with international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS 1982).
