Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang receives Armenian Ambassador, promotes cooperation in various fields
WVR - On the morning of August 11, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang receved Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Vietnam Suren Baghdasaryan.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the positive developments in bilateral relations across all fields in recent times. Notably, following the visit to Armenia by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, exchanges and delegation visits between the two countries have been regularly promoted at various levels and channels, contributing to strengthening political trust and laying a solid foundation for multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Regarding economic and trade cooperation, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized that bilateral trade turnover has seen positive growth recently: reaching nearly 500 million USD in 2024, an increase of over 40% compared to 2023, and exceeding 960 million USD in 2025, marking the highest level in recent years.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang praised the outcomes of the second session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation in May 2026. She urged the Ambassador and the Embassy to closely coordinate with Vietnamese and Armenian agencies to expedite the implementation of agreements and commitments made by the high-level leaders of the two countries and the session's minutes, proposing new directions for cooperation in the future, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, science, and technology.

Ambassador Suren Baghdasaryan expressed thanks to Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang for the meeting and agreed with her assessment of bilateral relations, affirming that Armenia always considers Vietnam an important partner in Southeast Asia.
The Ambassador pledged to actively and proactively implement high-level agreements and the outcomes of the second session of the Vietnam-Armenia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation. He also stated that he would closely coordinate with the agencies and units of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries, along with relevant ministries and sectors, to contribute to making cooperation between Vietnam and Armenia more substantive, especially in areas where both sides have strengths, in line with the desires and interests of both parties.
Both sides agreed to work together to promote exchanges and delegation visits at all levels, especially high-level ones, to effectively exploit the advantages of the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Free Trade Agreement, and to maximize the potential of traditional friendly relations to expand cooperation in science and technology, education and training, transportation, tourism, culture, people-to-people exchanges, and other fields, serving the development goals of both countries.
