Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang welcomes delegation from Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Press Department
WVR - On August 17, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang received a delegation from the Press Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, led by Mr Somkhit Vankham, Director General of the Press Department and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, on the occasion of their working visit to Vietnam.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang warmly welcomed the delegation from the Press Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, affirming that the visit is a practical activity to promote cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs in general and between the Press Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos in particular.
She emphasised that the visit takes place in a highly significant context in the relations between the two countries, following the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, especially as the Vietnam-Laos relationship has been enhanced with the 16 golden words: “Great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic connection”.
The Deputy Minister highlighted that generations of leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam have always valued the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos and are ready to share, support, and exchange experiences with their Lao counterparts, especially in external information work.
Director General of the Press Department and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos Somkhit Vankham expressed thanks to Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang for taking the time to meet the delegation, as well as for the warm and cordial reception from colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam. He affirmed that the coordination mechanism between the Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos and the Press Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has been maintained for many years, reflecting the importance both countries place on the Laos-Vietnam brotherly friendship and solidarity, as well as the relationship between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the two units.

The Director General of the Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos expressed the hope that through this visit and work in Vietnam, the delegation from the Press Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos will learn valuable experiences from their colleagues at the Press Information Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, particularly in external information, press, and communication work, especially in press conferences, spokesperson activities, and external information.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the close cooperation between the Press Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos in recent times in external information and communication work. She suggested that the two units continue to exchange experiences, support each other, and coordinate effectively based on political trust and the functions and tasks of the two units. This includes focusing on strengthening coordination and sharing perspectives and positions on international issues of mutual concern; promoting positive information about Vietnam-Laos relations and the situation of each country to enhance mutual understanding among the people of both countries, especially the younger generation in the future.
