COVID-19: Additional 16,141 cases recorded on December 11

Viet Nam recorded 16,141 cases of COVID-19 in 59 localities during 24 hours from 4pm December 10 to 4pm December 11, including 37 imported cases, according to the Ministry of Health.

Ho Chi Minh City continued to record the highest number of infections with 1,441, followed by Binh Phuoc with 1,164, and Tay Ninh with 903.

The national tally reached 1,398,413.

According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 7,558 patients nationwide are in serious conditions, with 893 requiring invasive ventilation and 17 on life support (ECMO).

On the day, the country saw 209 deaths from the disease. The death toll now hits 27,611.

A further 1,084 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,053,425.

By December 10, the country had injected over 131.81 million doses of vaccines to date, with more than 57.10 million people now fully inoculated.
