After joining her teammates to break the SEA Games record in the women’s 10m air pistol team event, Trinh Thu Vinh continued her outstanding form on the morning of December 14 by setting a new record to secure another individual gold in the women’s 10m air pistol.
After three rounds, the Vietnamese shooter posted a score of 242.7 points, one point higher than runner-up Nguyen Thuy Trang, her teammate. As a result, Vietnam claimed both the gold and silver medals in the event.
Earlier, the trio of Nguyen Thuy Trang, Trinh Thu Vinh and Trieu Thi Hoa Hong delivered an impressive performance in the women’s 10m air pistol team event. Competing with consistency and precision, the Vietnamese shooters amassed a total of 1,711 points to win the gold medal and shatter the SEA Games record.
In sepak takraw, the Vietnamese women’s team won the silver medal in the Regu team event. In the final, Thu Trang, Tu Trinh, and Ngoc Tuyet put in a strong performance, at times taking the lead against host Thailand in Regu 2. However, with superior composure and experience, Thailand won 2-0, claiming the gold medal, while the Vietnamese women’s team secured the silver.
In swimming, Nguyen Thuy Hien performed well in the women’s 50m freestyle heats, finishing with a time of 26.35 seconds to advance to the final.
