Coast Guard Region 1 Command celebrates 79th Anniversary of Vietnam People's Army

WVR - To celebrate the 79th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 organized various activities honouring the glorious traditions of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.

On the occasion of the 79th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2023) and the 34th Anniversary of the All-People National Defence Festival (December 22,1989 - 2023), Coast Guard Region 1 Command organized many exciting, meaningful and practical activities, attracting the participation of a large number of officers and soldiers.

Colonel Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Political Commissar of the Regional Command said that to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 34th anniversary of the National Defense Festival, the Party Committee and Head of the Regional Command have defined that the successful implementation of key political tasks is of utmost importance. Therefore, Party Committees and Commanders of units have promoted the role of individuals and groups in every step, and every job, with the expectation of bringing the highest results to the celebration of the anniversary of this historical event.

In recent times, the Regional Command has organized many activities of practical significance such as broadcasting on the unit's internal radio system about the traditions of the Vietnam People's Army; speaking on the traditions of the Vietnam Army and Coast Guard to 1,600 teachers and students of An Lu Secondary School, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city; organization of visits and presenting gifts to heroic Vietnamese Mothers, families of martyrs and war invalids in the area where the units are stationed; giving gifts to support children of martyrs in difficult circumstances from the Children's Fund, under Ministry of National Defense, for two children of Martyr Pham Van Huy, former employee of the Crime Prevention Unit of the Region Commander and two children of Martyr Tran Hoang Trung, former Head of Sector 5, Coast Police Ship 3003 of the Squadron 112.

Furthermore, the Party Committee and Head of the Regional Command have given directions to units, and mass organizations to implement many activities such as football and volleyball competitions; cultural and artistic exchanges with local Youth Unions in the area where the units are stationed.

The series of activities aimed at celebrating the anniversary on this occasion have contributed to highlighting the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, expressing deep gratitude to the great contributions and merits of the Vietnamese People's Army, contributions made by the wounded, martyrs and revolutionary families to the heroic and indomitable victories that adorn the red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, which is the pride of the Vietnamese people; creating a vibrant atmosphere for officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command to continue to strive, train, study, and devote themselves to the development of the Vietnam People's Army in general, Vietnam Coast Guard in particular.
