On November 30, in Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province, Coast Guard Region 4 Command organized a conference to summarize the work of the coast guard in 2023, as well as the implementation of directions and tasks in 2024.
Major General Dam Xuan Tuan, Deputy Commander of the Coast Guard attended and directed the conference.
Over the past year, Coast Guard Region 4 has synchronously and effectively deployed professional measures to prevent and combat crimes and violations; ensured good logistics, technical and financial work for regular and unexpected tasks; closely coordinated with Party Committees, local authorities, and functional forces to promote propaganda and dissemination of laws and social security activities in the area; drastically implementing measures in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
In addition, the unit has organized ships and boats to perform training and combat readiness tasks; patrolled, inspected, controlled and maintained law enforcement; conducted search and rescue; prevented and combated against IUU exploitation...
Recently, Coast Guard Region 4 has inspected, received and sanctioned administrative violations in 586 cases/655 domestic ships and 2 cases/2 foreign ships, confiscating 2,215,484 liters of DO oil and 31,214kg of scrap. The total amount of money collected from sanctioning and selling confiscated assets due to administrative violations, contributing to the State budget is 45 billion VND.
Recognizing, praising and appreciating the results that Coast Guard Region 4 has achieved, Major General Dam Xuan Tuan requested that in the coming time, Coast Guard Region 4 regularly research, forecast, firmly grasp the situation, proactively advise and propose effective handling of situations to avoid surprises; successfully complete the tasks of patrolling, controlling, and maintaining law enforcement; prevent and combat crime, violations and IUU exploitation...
In addition, Major General Dam Xuan Tuan also requested Coast Guard Region 4 to focus on improving the quality of training and combat readiness; building formal discipline, management and discipline training, associated with thoroughly overcoming existing limitations and shortcomings; focusing on innovating working methodsm styles and promoting the exemplary role of cadres and party members at all levels; coordinating to promote propaganda activities, disseminate legal education and social security in the area; regularly paying attention to the material and spiritual lives of officers, soldiers, and their families; successfully completing assigned tasks in 2024.
On this occasion, the Emulation and Commendation Council of Coast Guard Region 4 summarized the 2023 Emulation and Reward Movement. It awarded rewards to 24 collectives and 180 individuals with outstanding achievements. At the same time, it launched the 2024 Emulation Movement to Determine Victory with the theme of “Unity, exemplary, disciplined, proactive, creative, determined to win”.
