This is the first time the Government host such a forum on the topic of Vietnamese labors’ skills. The forum has affirmed the vision and desires in preparing human resources, with knowledge and skills to contribute to the improvement of work productivity, level of competition, therefore meeting requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and promoting the process of international integration.

Statistics of the Ministry of Education and Training by 2017 showed that the entire country has 10 academies, 123 universities, 153 colleges and more than 350 intermediate professional schools with IT-related education. However, according to Deputy Minister, Associate Professor Bui The Duy, a lot of those, in spite of recognizing themselves as “good educators”, often provided knowledge that are impractical to the operation of businesses.

Under the observation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, former Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Hang and many other senior official in the Government, General Director of the Directorate of Vocational training Nguyen Hong Minh and Doan Duc Minh, Director of Bytesoft Vietnam JSC. have signed an agreement on promising to improve labors’ skills.

Doan Duc Manh, Director of Bytesoft Vietnam JSC., shared: “In reality, when I met Vietnam’s major IT companies as well as staff in Bytesoft, there are only a handful of students that can work at a high level after graduation. The rest do not meet the requirements or can only complete simple tasks.

The connection between businesses with the IT-training sectors of Vietnam is rather loose. The business and the academic circles in Vietnam have their “prides” and therefore their connection is far from optimal. In my opinion, as long as the cooperation between those two circles remains loose, it is difficult to hope for a better education or an improvement of the human resources. It is time for us to look straight at our problem to seek for a solution.”

According to Mr. Manh, skilled and profession human resources would create momentum and competitiveness for businesses, a deciding factor for the survival and development of the businesses. With such slogan in mind, Bytesoft Vietnam had implemented practical measures to improve the quality of the internal human resources, assist schools in educating, improving vocational training for students and the company’s staff.

The company regularly organized internal training to improve the ability of the human resource; increasing international exchange and cooperation to exchange the most up-to-date technologies; organized conferences to connect with leading companies in the IT sector; connected with international training center such as Bach Khoa Aptech to provide students with opportunities to intern in realistic environment of the business.

Mr. Manh hoped that through this Forum, the delegations would share and learn from the experiences of participating businesses. According to him, it is necessary to have more cooperation program between schools and businesses to continuously improve and refine the labors’ skills, as well as the competitiveness of businesses and the nation as a whole on the international stage.
