The Vietnamese Embassy in China, in coordination with Wumart Group and Goodfarmer Group, organised the “Vietnam Goods Day in China & Vietnamese Fruit Festival” at a Wumart retail system supermarket in Beijing on November 29.

The event is one of the practical activities aimed at realising the common perceptions reached by the high-ranking leaders of the two countries on promoting bilateral trade cooperation, as well as advancing the Government’s project on encourging Vietnamese enterprises to participate directly in overseas distribution networks by 2030.

Dozens of Vietnamese brands showcased a wide range of products, including bird’s nest and processed bird’s nest products, coffee, fresh fruit, dried fruit and fruit-based beverages, cashew nuts, confectionery, and rice.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh highlighted that in recent years, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China has been developing positively, with economic and trade cooperation deepening and achieving significant results.

He noted that with a population of over 1.4 billion and rising demand for high-quality goods, especially food, China presents a major opportunity for high-quality Vietnamese products. Vietnam has already exported a variety of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products to China, all of which have been favoured by Chinese consumers.

The Vietnamese Embassy in China, acting as a “bridge” to introduce Vietnamese brands and products to the Chinese market, has continuously diversified forms of connectivity, helping build a solid cooperation platform for enterprises of both countries, he said.

Through this programme, it hopes to further support Vietnamese products and brands in accessing China’s distribution networks and retail supermarket systems, marking an important step in promoting Vietnamese goods within China’s distribution channels, he added.

Binh emphasised that the event offers Chinese consumers the opportunity to directly experience the quality of Vietnamese products. He expressed confidence that thanks to cultural and culinary similarities and the growing interest in health and high-quality products, Vietnamese goods will certainly become a preferred choice among discerning Chinese consumers.

Liu Ziqiu, CEO of Good Farmer Group, stated that Vietnam serves as a “golden production hub” for Good Farmer’s global supply chain. The group has greatly benefited from cooperation with leading partners in selecting premium fruits, bringing these high-quality products “from Vietnamese orchards to Chinese dining tables”.

As a result, Vietnamese fruit supplied through Good Farmer has reached thousands of households while maintaining freshness, earning strong favour from consumers, he stated.
