During her working visit to Bulgaria on September 30, at the headquarters of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang held discussions with Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Nikolay Pavlov to exchange views on cooperation between the two countries and their foreign ministries.

During the meeting, both sides updated each other on the situation in their respective countries. Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang congratulated Bulgaria on its recent achievements in development and European integration, its successful accession to the Schengen Agreement on free movement in Europe, and its planned entry into the Eurozone at the beginning of 2026.

Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov shared that Bulgaria is nearing the completion of its European integration process with its accession to the OECD expected next year.

Expressing admiration for Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements and recognizing Vietnam as a market full of potential for Bulgaria and the EU, Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov affirmed that Bulgaria always values developing relations with Vietnam, one of Bulgaria's top partners in the region.

Both sides agreed that the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries have developed well in recent times. They have exchanged numerous high-level delegations across state, parliamentary, and other channels, closely coordinated, and supported each other at multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations and within the ASEAN-EU framework.

The two sides have also organized various activities to meaningfully commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025. Cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, education and training, science and technology, defense and security, culture, labor, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges have all seen positive development.

Both sides emphasized the importance of closely coordinating preparations for high-level visits to enhance political trust and promote cooperation in new areas such as high technology, innovation, human resource training in artificial intelligence and supercomputing, database connectivity, defense and security industries, automotive industry, telecommunications, and pharmaceuticals, contributing to elevating bilateral relations to new heights.
