Bringing the Mid-Autumn Festival flavour to every child in Japan
WVR - On September 27, in Kobe City, the Vietnamese Association in Kobe, in collaboration with various agencies, units, and community organizations, organized the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival program. The event brought a joyful, warm atmosphere rich in traditional Vietnamese culture to Vietnamese children living in the area.

The program was attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka; local authorities of Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture; Hoa Lac Pagoda, the Vietnamese Association in Kansai region, various Vietnamese-Japanese organizations, and a large number of Vietnamese families and over 100 children.
In her speech at the program, Ms. Bui Thi Oanh, Head of the Organizing Committee, extended her greetings and gratitude to the agencies, units, organizations, and individuals who have accompanied the event to bring a meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival to the children. She emphasized that this is not only an occasion for the children to enjoy and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival but also an opportunity for Vietnamese generations in Japan to preserve and spread the traditional cultural values of their homeland.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Dang Hoang, Consul in charge of community affairs at the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka, acknowledged and highly appreciated the practical activities of the Vietnamese community in Kobe in connecting people, caring for spiritual life, and creating a cultural environment for the younger generation.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Hoang also extended his wishes to the children for a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival filled with beautiful memories. He hopes that the Vietnamese community in Kobe will continue to maintain activities that foster unity, contribute to building a cohesive, civilized community, and remain connected to their homeland.

Despite the rainy weather, the program attracted more than 100 children and Vietnamese families. In the Mid-Autumn space, the children immersed themselves in various fun activities, interactions, and enjoyed performances rich in traditional colors.
The laughter of children, the Mid-Autumn lanterns, and the festive atmosphere created a beloved corner of Vietnam in the heart of Kobe. For many Vietnamese families living far from home, such programs not only bring joy to the children but also help the younger generation better understand the culture, customs, and traditional values of the nation.
The Mid-Autumn Festival in Kobe once again demonstrated the solidarity of the Vietnamese community in Japan, while also contributing to creating an environment where the younger generation can grow up with a love for their homeland, preserving Vietnamese cultural identity even while living and studying far from their country.
