This annual event holds significant importance in strengthening solidarity and connecting with the roots for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Turkey. Notably, this is the first time the event has been held in Istanbul, nearly 500 km away from the Embassy in the capital, Ankara.
The event attracted a large number of Vietnamese expatriates and students residing, studying, and working in Turkey. Istanbul's Deputy Governor Mehmet SÜLÜN represented the city authorities at the event. The ceremony also saw the participation of Vietnam's Honorary Consul in Istanbul, Ali Tezolmez, in a warm, familial, and solemn atmosphere.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Dang Thi Thu Ha noted that this is the first time the Embassy has brought the community Tet to Istanbul, where the majority of Vietnamese people in Turkey reside, despite the distance of nearly 500 km from the capital. The Ambassador highlighted the country's achievements in 2025, especially the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the streamlining of the organizational apparatus, events of particular significance on the nation's development path.
Expressing delight at the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Turkey over the past year, especially in political-diplomatic, economic-trade, and defense areas, the Ambassador affirmed that with shared cultural and historical values, based on the current comprehensive cooperation, the relationship between Vietnam and Turkey, with its vast potential, is expected to make significant strides in 2026 and the coming years. The Ambassador called on the Vietnamese community to uphold the tradition of solidarity, diligence, creativity, strive to advance, preserve the Vietnamese language and cultural identity, and contribute to the development of the good friendship between Vietnam and Turkey, joining hands with compatriots at home to lead Vietnam steadily into a new era.

Many expatriates expressed their deep gratitude for the attention of the Party and State, and the Embassy's close engagement with their lives, committing to continue to unite, strive for further development, and always look towards their homeland.
In a space filled with the colors of spring, with peach blossoms, 'banh chung', and other Vietnamese cultural symbols, the expatriates enjoyed traditional musical performances, folk games, and dishes rich in the flavors of the traditional Tet.
The event was not only an occasion for reunion but also a testament to the vibrant vitality of Vietnamese culture and the national pride of each expatriate. The ceremony concluded in a warm, sincere atmosphere, leaving a deep impression on each Vietnamese expatriate and international guests attending.
