This is a major and influential trade event in Tanzania, playing a crucial role in promoting investment and trade activities in the East African region.
At the fair, the Vietnamese delegation received a warm welcome from Dr. Latifa M. Khamis, Director General of the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade).
The visit took place on June 29, marking the 50th anniversary of the DITF. Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen's presence at the event holds special significance, demonstrating Vietnam's interest and commitment to further enhancing economic and trade relations with Tanzania.

During the reception, Dr. Latifa M. Khamis expressed her pleasure in welcoming the Vietnamese Ambassador and delegation. The Director General of TanTrade highly appreciated the traditional friendship between the two countries, emphasizing that the Sabasaba Fair has become an important bridge over the years, contributing to promoting trade, attracting international investment, and expanding cooperation opportunities for the business community.
Ms. Khamis also expressed hope that the increasingly active presence of Vietnamese businesses will continue to provide momentum for bilateral cooperation in the future.

After the reception, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen and the delegation toured several prominent exhibition areas at the fair. A notable highlight was the booth of Halotel (Viettel Tanzania), a telecommunications brand considered a symbol of successful investment cooperation between Vietnam and Tanzania.
Here, Ambassador Vu Thanh Huyen acknowledged Halotel's positive contributions to the development of telecommunications infrastructure in Tanzania, particularly in expanding digital connectivity, promoting digital transformation, and enhancing technology access for local people.
The Ambassador also encouraged the leadership and all staff of Halotel to continue leveraging their technological capabilities, maintain service quality, and enhance the provision of modern digital solutions, thereby making more practical contributions to Tanzania's socio-economic development.
The visit and work of the Vietnamese Embassy delegation in Tanzania concluded successfully, further opening up positive prospects for promoting trade, increasing import-export turnover, and deepening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Tanzania in the future.
