Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai pays courtesy call to Cuban Ambassador in France
WVR - On April 15, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai paid a courtesy visit to Cuban Ambassador Otto Vaillant Frias, discussing bilateral relations, the situation in Cuba, and numerous international and regional issues of mutual interest.

The Cuban Ambassador affirmed Cuba's special affection and high regard for its relationship with Vietnam, highlighting agricultural cooperation as a prominent aspect of the bilateral relations in recent times.
Thanks to the adoption of Vietnamese techniques and experience, rice productivity in Cuba has significantly increased, opening prospects for Cuba to achieve food self-sufficiency in the medium term and aim towards rice exports.
Regarding domestic conditions, Ambassador Otto Vaillant Frias stated that Cuba is facing severe challenges due to sanctions and the consequences of the energy crisis, leading to prolonged power outages that heavily impact production and social life.
In this context, Cuba is accelerating its energy transition, aiming to increase the share of renewable energy and gradually develop the private economic sector.
Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai affirmed that Vietnam always values its traditional friendship and special solidarity with Cuba. Expressing deep sympathy with Cuba's current difficulties, Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai emphasized that Vietnam is ready to continue accompanying and supporting Cuba both spiritually and materially within its capacity.
The Ambassador reiterated Vietnam's stance supporting dialogue between the United States and Cuba, aiming to improve and normalize relations for the benefit of the peoples of both countries, and for peace, cooperation, stability, and development in the region and the world.
