The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, aimed at discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation amidst significant regional and international developments.

During the meeting, both sides agreed that Vietnam and China are close neighbours with a long-standing tradition of friendship, sharing many historical and cultural similarities, as well as strategic interests in the current development phase.

Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai emphasized that the Party and State of Vietnam consistently prioritize strengthening and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China.

Both sides highly appreciated the successful organization of the first session of the 3+3 Strategic Dialogue mechanism at the ministerial level in Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Public Security between Vietnam and China.

This is a unique dialogue mechanism, with China being the only country with which Vietnam has established this model of cooperation, reflecting a high level of political trust. It also demonstrates the determination of both sides to effectively and comprehensively implement cooperation in foreign affairs, defense, and security, contributing to a more substantive and in-depth development of bilateral relations.

Notably, the meeting took place at a significant time, ahead of the state visit by General Secretary and President To Lam to China. Both sides expressed confidence that the visit will create new momentum, opening up broader cooperation directions in economic, trade, investment, and supply chain connectivity, while continuing to strengthen the political trust foundation between the two countries.

In addition to bilateral relations, the two ambassadors also engaged in extensive discussions on regional and international issues of mutual concern. They agreed to enhance close coordination between their respective representative offices in Paris, maintain regular exchanges, and share information and perspectives on relations with France and the European Union (EU).
