The Agritechnica Asia Vietnam 2025 exhibition will be held from March 12 to 14 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

During a press conference co-hosted by the German Agricultural Society (DLG ) and Vietnam Agriculture newspaper in Hanoi on February 14, Peter Grothues, a member of the Board, DLG Markets, hoped that Agritechnica would serve as a platform to introduce core technologies propelling Asia toward greener, smarter and more sustainable farming practices.

Agritechnica Asia Vietnam 2025 will play a pivotal role in accelerating agricultural mechanisation and innovation across Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asia, Grothues said.

The exhibition will spotlight mechanisation, digital farming, and resource-efficient solutions tailored for major crops such as rice, fruit, maize, cassava, sugarcane and coffee. Leading industry players will showcase cutting-edge technologies to drive agricultural innovation.

It will also provide invaluable insights through conferences and thematic workshops led by over 60 expert speakers. Discussions will tackle regional challenges and opportunities, with contributions from prominent organisations such as the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), Germany Development Agency (GIZ) and the United Nations Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanisation (UNESCAP).

Nguyen Van Hung, a senior expert and head of the IRRI’s mechanisation and post-harvest group, stressed that Vietnam’s expansive agricultural landscape presents significant opportunities for technological platforms to thrive.

Meanwhile, Head of Agriculture at GIZ Sonja Esche said GIZ aims to connect foreign experts to accelerate Vietnam’s agricultural transformation through climate-smart solutions, capacity building, and strengthened public-private partnerships to promote sustainable agriculture.

Agritechnica Asia, the world’s leading agricultural trade fair held by DLG, builds upon the legacy of its parent event Agritechnica in Hannover, Germany, which has been showcasing agricultural technology since 1985.

For the first time, Vietnam will host this prestigious trade fair, concurrent with HortEx Vietnam - Southeast Asia’s premier exhibition for horticulture and floriculture professionals.
