Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu presided over the ceremony, which was attended by numerous Embassy officials and staff, resident journalists, representatives from the Khmer-Vietnam Association, the Vietnam Business Association in Cambodia, businesses, and the Vietnamese community living and working in the area.
The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere at the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument in the heart of Phnom Penh, a noble symbol of the fighting solidarity and the great sacrifices of the armies and peoples of both countries.
In front of the Memorial, delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense and observed a minute of silence to remember the Heroes and Martyrs, volunteer soldiers, and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation, defense, and the noble international duty of helping the Cambodian people escape the genocide disaster.
This activity is a profound expression of gratitude, reflecting the moral tradition of "drinking water, remember the source" and the revolutionary tradition of the nation. The event also helps to unite the Vietnamese community in Cambodia, continuing to promote the spirit of solidarity, focusing on the homeland, and contributing positively to the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Alongside the incense offering, the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia has also been implementing other gratitude activities, actively responding to the 500-day campaign to intensify the search, gathering, and identification of martyrs' remains.
The Vietnamese Representative Missions in the area have identified the gathering of the remains of volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed their lives during various wartime periods as a particularly important political and moral task. Thanks to the close and effective cooperation between the governments, the Special Committees, and the peoples of both countries, tens of thousands of Vietnamese martyrs' remains have been found, exhumed, gathered, and brought back to the motherland over the years.
