(Photo: VNA)On 1 December 2025, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (2 December 1975 – 2 December 2025), the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the President, the National Assembly, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front jointly sent a Message of Congratulations to the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the President, the National Assembly, the Government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction.

The Message of Congratulations reads:

"On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front extend their warmest and most sincere congratulations to the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the President, the Government, the National Assembly, and the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction.

Over the past 50 years, under the wise leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Laos has overcome numerous challenges, persistently striving to build and safeguard the nation, and has achieved great and historically significant accomplishments across various fields. Socio-economic development has remained stable, the livelihood of the people has steadily improved, political security and social order have been maintained, and Laos’s position and prestige in the international arena have been increasingly enhanced.

In particular, the 11th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party identified the guidelines, goals, and tasks for national development in the new period, aiming to move the country out of underdevelopment by 2026.

We firmly believe that, under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the fraternal country of Laos will continue to attain many new and greater achievements; that the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party will successfully organize its 12th National Congress in early 2026; and that Laos will successfully build a peaceful, independent, democratic, united, and prosperous nation in line with socialist goals.

We are pleased and proud to observe that, along with the significant achievements gained by the two Parties, the two States, and the peoples of both countries in recent years, the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos—founded and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong—have been increasingly consolidated and have developed in a deeper, more substantive, and more effective manner across all fields, contributing importantly to the cause of renovation, national construction, and national defense in each country.

The Party, State, and people of Vietnam have always given strong and comprehensive support to Laos’s renewal process, consistently considering relations with Laos a top priority in their foreign policy. Under all circumstances, Vietnam will spare no effort in joining Laos to preserve, safeguard, and continuously cultivate the Vietnam–Laos special solidarity so that it develops more deeply, substantively, and effectively across all fields, for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

We wish the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States, and the peoples of Vietnam and Laos to remain ever green and ever sustainable. We wish the leaders of the Party, the State, the Government, and the Lao Front for National Construction good health and even greater success in their noble endeavors."
