Vietnamese international students received support from Lao Youth Union

On August 2, Chairman of the Office of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union Souliya Kiewphilavong presented gifts worth of 12 million Kip (27 million VND) to Vietnamese students studying at the National University of Laos.

The gift-giving ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Dai Thang, Secretary of the Designated Representation of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth in Laos, Assoc. Professor Phaly Thipdavanh, Vice Rector of Laos National University, and many Vietnamese international students of the University.

Speaking at the event, Vice Rector Souliya Kiewphilavong said that the gifts from the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union included essential necessities, medical masks, and antiseptic water to help Vietnamese students to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, the pandemic situation in Laos and other countries in the region is still very complicated. He called on Vietnamese students to uphold the spirit of solidarity and to comply with the pandemic prevention regulations of the Lao Ministry of Health, both to prevent disease for themselves, and support the Lao Party, State and people in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recalling the tradition of great friendship between Laos and Vietnam, Mr. Souliya Kiewphilavong highlighted the role and responsibility of the youth of the two countries in preserving, cultivating and developing this relationship. At the same time, he also expressed his hope that Vietnamese international students should try their best to study well and maintain good morality so that, after graduation, they can make a lot of contribution to the construction and development of Vietnam.

On behalf of Vietnamese international students studying at Laos National University, Mr. Bui Huu Hoc, Deputy Secretary of the Designated Representation of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Laos expressed his appreciation and thanked the valuable support of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, and reaffirmed to encouraging each other to study well and strictly follow the pandemic prevention and control regulations of the Lao Ministry of Health.

Lao National University currently has 184 Vietnamese international students enrolling in school and also has the most Vietnamese students studying in Laos.
