Foreign Ministry Spokesperson provides update on Vietnamese citizens in the Middle East
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated that the situation of Vietnamese citizens in conflict zones in the Middle East is generally stable, with no reports of citizens being affected by the conflicts.

On March 5, during the regular press briefing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a reporter's question concerning updates on Vietnamese citizens in Israel, Iran, and neighbouring countries, as well as the current citizen protection efforts, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: “According to information from Vietnamese representative missions in the Middle East, there are currently about 12,000 Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in the region. The situation of Vietnamese citizens in these areas is generally stable, with no reports of citizens being affected by the conflicts.

In light of the current conflicts, under the close guidance of the Party, State, and Government leaders, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has coordinated closely with relevant agencies and Vietnamese representative missions in Iran, Israel, and neighbouring countries to monitor developments closely. They maintain regular contact with the Vietnamese community in these areas, work specifically with local authorities to support Vietnamese citizens, including tourists, transit passengers, and delegations whose subsequent flights have been canceled due to airspace closures. They advise citizens to ensure safety and provide emergency contact points, proactively implementing citizen protection measures and preparing evacuation plans if necessary.

In emergencies or difficulties, Vietnamese citizens should immediately contact the 24/7 citizen protection hotlines of Vietnamese representative missions in Iran, Israel, and neighbouring areas or the Citizen Protection Call Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for urgent assistance.
