Speaking at a recent fundraising event, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Cong Dung said the meaningful donations demonstrate donors’ care and attention towards their home country, contributing to easing the difficulties and driving back the pandemic.

The embassy raised more than 150,000 SGD (113,200 USD) in the first three days after launching the first round of fundraising on June 4.

As of 12pm on June 7, Viet Nam recorded 8,883 cases of COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Health.

The country is projected to need 150 million doses of vaccine to inoculate about 75 million people at an estimated cost of 25.2 trillion VND (1.09 billion USD).
