Vietnamese Consulate General promotes cooperation between Vietnam and Northeastern provinces of Thailand

WVR - On March 27-28, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh and a delegation from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen (Thailand) visited and worked in several northeastern provinces of Thailand.

Speaking at the meeting with Kalasin Province, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed gratitude to Governor Suwan Khemthanaphet for the warm reception, which demonstrated goodwill and a cooperative spirit with Vietnam.

He affirmed that local cooperation between the two countries plays a crucial role in concretizing and deepening the Vietnam – Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This is particularly significant as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2026).

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed gratitude to the provincial authorities for their attention and facilitation, helping the Vietnamese community to have a stable life and contribute to local socio-economic development.

The Vietnamese community in Thailand, particularly in Kalasin, has been a meaningful bridge connecting the people of the two countries, contributing to the increasingly positive and sustainable development of Vietnam - Thailand relations.

Congratulating the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen, Thailand on its 30th anniversary (April 22, 1996 - April 22, 2026), Governor Suwan highly appreciated the activities of the Vietnamese representative agency in connecting local cooperation between the two countries, especially with geographically close localities like Da Nang, Hue, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, and Quang Tri.

In the future, Kalasin Province will enhance coordination with the Vietnamese Consulate General to promote local cooperation with Vietnam in potential areas such as investment, trade, tourism, high-tech agriculture, education and training, as well as cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy.

Subsequently, the delegation had a working program with the authorities of Sakon Nakhon Province and attended the Sakon Nakhon Na 2026 Handicraft Festival.

In her opening speech at the festival, Governor Ranida Luangthitisakul of Sakon Nakhon thanked the Vietnamese Consulate General and Ha Tinh Province for their active coordination, calling on the Vietnamese community and domestic enterprises to participate and contribute to the success of this important cultural exchange, investment, trade, and tourism promotion activity of the province.

The festival is a promising foundation for the continued success of Vietnamese localities and entrepreneurs in introducing consumer products to the Thai market.

During the event, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh praised the coordination and support of the Vietnamese community and commended the proactive and positive efforts of entrepreneurs in introducing and promoting high-quality products and reputable brands such as Vietnamese deer velvet, Cr Man Coffee, Hanhsilk, Hoan Thuy Food with Hung Yen's specialty "Long nhan om sen", and Royal Gia Lan culinary products rich in Central Vietnamese flavors.

The effective and practical cooperation and vibrant exchanges between Sakon Nakhon and Ha Tinh in recent times vividly demonstrate the spirit of companionship and cooperation for development between localities and peoples of the two countries.

The Sakon Nakhon Na 2026 Festival is not only a great opportunity for businesses from both countries to connect and promote investment - trade - tourism, but also an occasion to enhance understanding and cultural exchange, contributing to the increasingly positive and sustainable relationship between the peoples of the two countries.

From March 27-29, the Sakon Nakhon Na 2026 Handicraft Festival was held for the first time by the Nong Han Lake, one of Thailand's largest natural lakes and an important ecological and cultural exchange tourist destination in Sakon Nakhon Province.

Over the weekend, the festival received enthusiastic participation from the majority of the Vietnamese community and local Thai residents, attracting over 10,000 visitors for sightseeing and cultural exchange, marking a significant cultural event connecting with Vietnam in Northeastern Thailand.
