During meetings with Mr. Sarawut Phetphanomporn, Chairman of the Udon Thani Provincial Government Council and a key member of the Pheu Thai Party in Northeastern Thailand; Lieutenant General Suwan Chiaonawinthawat, Provincial Police Commander; and Mr. Kittikorn Teekathananon, Mayor of Udon Thani City, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh congratulated them on their successes in 2025 and expressed confidence that Udon Thani will continue to successfully implement its socio-economic development plans in the new year 2026.
Highlighting Udon Thani as the province with the largest Vietnamese community in Thailand, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed hope that local authorities will continue to support the Vietnamese community in achieving economic stability and in preserving and developing the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site and Vietnam Street into significant cultural and historical landmarks of Udon Thani. This holds special significance in 2026, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
In Sakon Nakhon, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh congratulated Mrs. Ranida Luangthitisakul on her appointment as Provincial Governor and praised the plan to collaborate with Ha Tinh Province to organize a cultural festival in 2026. This will be a meaningful activity to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Vietnamese Consulate General is also ready to promote deeper cooperative ties between Sakon Nakhon and Quang Binh previously, now Quang Tri, bringing practical benefits to both localities and the people of the two nations.

Governor Ranida Luangthitisakul congratulated the Vietnamese Consulate General on its achievements in 2025 and expressed confidence that the 2026 Spring Homeland Festival, themed Celebrating the Party, Spring, and 50 Years of Vietnam-Thailand Diplomatic Relations, will be a successful event marking a meaningful start to a new year of enhanced cooperation between the Vietnamese Consulate General and Northeastern Thai provinces.
In Maha Sarakham, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh congratulated new Provincial Governor Chumpitch Decharat and expressed confidence that the locality's socio-economic achievements will continue to be effectively promoted in 2026. The Vietnamese Consulate General is ready to establish an information exchange mechanism to proactively coordinate with Maha Sarakham in organizing economic diplomacy activities in the near future.
Governor Chumpitch Decharat expressed gratitude and hopes that the Vietnamese Consulate General will connect investment cooperation for economic development, particularly in agricultural production, between Maha Sarakham and Vietnamese localities. He is confident that the province will collaborate with the Vietnamese Consulate General to organize activities showcasing the potential and strengths of Maha Sarakham's cooperation with Vietnamese localities and businesses in 2026.
In the immediate future, the Maha Sarakham Department of Commerce will introduce high-quality agricultural products at the Spring Homeland Festival on February 12.
On this occasion, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh informed provincial leaders about the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, scheduled from January 19-25, 2026, in Hanoi, highlighting significant achievements over 40 years of renewal and the 13th Congress term.
The 14th National Congress of the Party is a major political event, crucial for Vietnam's future development in the new era. Besides setting goals and tasks for the next five years, the Congress will shape strategic thinking, vision, and development orientation for the country until the mid-21st century.

The theme Under the Glorious Flag of the Party, United and Determined to Achieve National Development Goals by 2030; Strategic Autonomy, Self-Reliance, Confidence, Advancing Strongly in the Era of National Growth, for Peace, Independence, Democracy, Prosperity, Civilization, Happiness, and Steadfast Progress towards Socialism reflects the unity of thought and action, reinforcing confidence, affirming the Party's wisdom and the strength of the entire Vietnamese nation.
Regarding the 14th National Party Congress's direction, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that Vietnam's development goals are to maintain a peaceful, stable environment; achieve rapid, sustainable national development and firmly defend the homeland; improve and comprehensively enhance people's lives; achieve strategic autonomy, self-reliance, and confidence in the new era of national growth; successfully achieve the goal of becoming a modern industrialized, upper-middle-income developing country by 2030; and realize the vision of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045; for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, civilized, happy Vietnam, steadfastly progressing towards socialism.
