Vietnamese, Chilean citizens enjoy visa exemption

The Prime Minister has just approved the implementation plan of the agreement on visa exemption for regular passport holders between Vietnam and Chile.

According to the agreement, Vietnamese and Chilean holders of regular passports are offered entry visa exemption to both countries, beginning from August 11, 2017.

Citizens of both countries, who hold regular passports, with a validity of at least six months, are exempted from visas upon entry through international border gates. The visitors’ stay must not exceed 90 days from the date of entry and must not be for the purpose of generating income.

To those who intend to stay for longer than 90 days, they must ask for permission from the authorised agencies of the receiving country.

Relevant bodies, including the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defence, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, and overseas representative offices of Vietnam are to work with each other to implement visa exemption for Vietnamese and Chilean holders of regular passports in line with the agreement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to keep all overseas representative offices of Vietnam updated on the agreement, particularly the local airlines to facilitate travel of the two nations’ citizens.
