At the Global Chefs Challenge Finals 2026, held from May 16-19 at the International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales), Newport, Wales (United Kingdom), the Vietnamese Chefs Team secured the Silver Medal in the Global Chefs Challenge category – the highest competition level for professional chefs within the Worldchefs competition system.
According to the official rankings, the Vietnamese team scored 81.875 points, placing 8th among 15 national and territorial teams. Italy led with 94.167 points, followed by Denmark and Singapore.
This is also the first time Vietnam has had a representative in the global finals of this competition. This achievement is considered a significant milestone for the professional Vietnamese chef team in the process of international integration.

The Vietnamese team participated in the competition with Chef Trinh Tuan Dung, sous chef Le Dac Minh Quan, and coach Van Phu Phuong Dung.
All members belong to the Saigon Professional Chefs Chapter (SPC), under the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association and are members of the Vietnam Chefs Association.
Previously, at the 2025 Asia regional qualifiers, Chef Trinh Tuan Dung won the Gold Medal, becoming one of the top two representatives in the region to qualify for the world finals.
The Global Chefs Challenge is an international culinary competition organized within the framework of the Worldchefs Congress, bringing together outstanding chefs who have passed selection rounds from various regions worldwide.
Competing teams must demonstrate skills in food preparation, creativity, time management, and presentation standards in a professional competition environment.

In this year's finals, the Vietnamese team competed against strong teams from Italy, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Mexico, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia...
According to the organizers, the achievement of the Vietnamese team demonstrates progress in expertise, integration capability, and efforts to elevate the status of Vietnamese cuisine on international professional platforms.
