The meeting aimed to discuss preparations for APEC 2027, outline cooperation with the business community, and enhance the role of the private sector in the APEC process. The delegation included representatives from leading U.S. corporations such as Boeing, Johnson & Johnson, JPMorgan, Visa, Mastercard, and Walmart.

Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that Vietnam always values its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the United States and hopes to continue closely coordinating with the U.S. to effectively implement the cooperation directions agreed upon by the leaders of both countries. The Deputy Minister appreciated the positive contributions of the U.S. business community to economic, trade, investment, science and technology, and innovation relations between the two countries; he also affirmed that Vietnam will continue to improve the investment and business environment towards transparency, stability, and convenience.

Discussing preparations for APEC 2027, Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu stated that Vietnam is actively implementing comprehensive preparations, aiming to successfully organize APEC 2027, thereby reinforcing APEC's role as the region's leading economic cooperation forum.

The Permanent Deputy Minister emphasized three commitments of Vietnam as the host of APEC 2027. First, to promote APEC's role as the region's leading economic cooperation forum, fostering trade and investment, and innovation. Second, to build a substantive agenda, centering on businesses as partners in developing initiatives and creating tangible outcomes for the region. Third, to further strengthen public-private partnerships, expanding dialogue channels between the government and the business community to ensure APEC effectively meets the region's new development demands.

Permanent Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that Vietnam wishes to continue close coordination with the United States within the APEC framework; viewing the U.S. business community as an important partner in the preparation and organization of APEC 2027. The Deputy Minister stated that Vietnam is accelerating reforms to enhance the role of the private economic sector and attract foreign investment in a quality, efficient, and innovative manner; he also urged NCAPEC and the U.S. business community to continue their partnership by sharing experiences, proposing initiatives, enhancing business connectivity, and supporting the organization of APEC 2027 activities, contributing to building a substantive, action-oriented agenda that brings practical benefits to the business community and people in the region.

NCAPEC Chairwoman Monica Hardy Whaley praised Vietnam's proactive and methodical preparations for APEC 2027, affirming that NCAPEC views Vietnam as an important partner in promoting regional economic cooperation.

Monica Hardy Whaley affirmed that NCAPEC will continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese agencies in the coming time to mobilize the broad participation of the U.S. private sector, contributing to the successful organization of APEC Vietnam 2027, while further promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and the United States, as well as strengthening economic linkages in the Asia-Pacific region.

Representatives of U.S. businesses highly appreciated Vietnam's economic development prospects and the efforts of the Vietnamese Government in improving the investment environment, promoting innovation, digital transformation, and developing the private economic sector.

U.S. businesses also expressed their desire to increase investment and expand business activities in Vietnam in areas such as healthcare, finance, retail, aviation, and logistics; affirming their readiness to accompany Vietnam in building the APEC 2027 business agenda, sharing experiences in organizing international business forums, mobilizing the participation of the APEC business community, and contributing initiatives on healthcare, digital trade, and capacity building for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
