They are groundless accusations, deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Ngo Toan Thang said at a regular press briefing in Ha Noi on April 23.

Vietnam strictly prohibits acts of cyber-attacks targeting any organizations and individuals in any form, Thang said, adding that all acts of attacking and threatening cybersecurity must be condemned and severely punished by law.

According to the deputy spokesperson, in 2018, the National Assembly of Vietnam adopted the Cybersecurity Law and is currently finalizing legal documents to enforce the law.

Vietnam is ready to cooperate with the international community in combating and preventing cyber-attacks in any form, he stressed.

Earlier, on April 22 US cyber-security firm FireEye accused the Vietnamese government of supporting a group of hackers APT32 in attempting to break into several government agencies and businesses in the world.
