In recent days, several localities in Cebu City, Philippines, have been severely affected by Super Typhoon Bualoi and a 6.9-magnitude earthquake, resulting in 69 fatalities, over 150 injuries, and more than 3,500 homes completely destroyed, with estimated damages exceeding 1.7 billion Pesos.
Under the directive of the Ministry of National Defense and the leadership of the Vietnam Coast Guard, a delegation led by Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of Coast Guard Region 2, aboard the CSB 8002, was on a visit and exchange with the Philippine Coast Guard. They promptly engaged in joint disaster relief efforts alongside local authorities and residents.
On October 8, officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard delegation coordinated with Philippine Coast Guard personnel to travel over 100km from the CSB 8002's anchorage to Bogo Province, where local residents are heavily impacted by the earthquake, to carry out support activities.

Here, the delegation delivered 1 ton of rice, along with instant noodles, dry food, and bottled water to local authorities and residents. Additionally, medical officers aboard the CSB 8002 collaborated with healthcare staff from the Philippine Coast Guard to organize free medical check-ups and distribute medication to those affected by the disaster.
The participation of the Vietnam Coast Guard delegation and the CSB 8002 in earthquake recovery efforts showed Vietnam's spirit of international solidarity and mutual support, thereby promoting the image of the Vietnam Coast Guard - Uncle Ho's Soldiers in the new era.
