Vietnam and Jordan enhance parliamentary cooperation efficiency: NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man

WVR - On the afternoon of November 12, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan on the occasion of the King and the high-level delegation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's official visit to Vietnam from November 12-13, 2025

During the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Man warmly welcomed King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein on his official visit to Vietnam as the two countries celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1980-2025). This marks an important milestone, opening a new phase of deeper and more effective cooperation between Vietnam and Jordan.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that despite geographical distance, the two countries share a friendly and close relationship built on mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

NA Chairman Man highly appreciated Jordan's efforts in promoting peace, stability, and development in the Middle East, as well as King Abdullah's leadership role in advancing humanitarian values, social justice, and global food security.

The Chairman affirmed Vietnam's readiness to promote cooperation with Jordan across various fields on a mutually beneficial basis, emphasizing that the Vietnamese National Assembly is prepared to facilitate legal frameworks and promote policies supporting bilateral cooperation; coordinating the supervision of the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two countries, thereby fostering comprehensive cooperation.

Sharing in the great losses suffered by the Vietnamese people due to recent natural disasters, King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein expressed admiration for the resilient spirit, diligence, and creativity of the Vietnamese people and the socio-economic achievements Vietnam has attained.

In the context of both countries accelerating the implementation of socio-economic development policies, the King expressed a desire for the two nations to enhance cooperation across all fields, particularly between the private sectors.

Chairman Man sincerely thanked King Abdullah for his sympathy towards Vietnam's recent losses due to natural disasters and provided information on the human and material damages suffered by the Vietnamese people during recent floods.

Chairman Man and King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein agreed that both sides need to strengthen political trust and promote cooperation in defense and security through exchanges at all levels.

In the economic sector, the two leaders agreed to facilitate the strengths of each country's products and promote cooperation in high-tech agriculture, textiles, renewable energy, logistics, healthcare, and more.

Chairman Man emphasized the proposal to expand cultural, educational cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges through student exchanges, scholarships, tourism, and cultural activities to enhance understanding and connection among the younger generations of both nations. To achieve this goal, King Abdullah proposed that both sides explore the possibility of opening a direct flight route between the two countries.

The two leaders also agreed that the legislative bodies of both countries should enhance parliamentary cooperation efficiency, considering it one of the key pillars in the overall bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Jordan.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man extended greetings and reiterated the invitation for Jordan's bicameral leadership to visit Vietnam at a suitable time to deepen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
