Venezuela awards First Class Francisco de Miranda Order to Ambassador Vu Trung My
WVR - On the afternoon of September 7 (local time), at the Miraflores Palace in the capital Caracas, Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez presided over the ceremony to award the First Class Francisco de Miranda Order to Ambassador of Vietnam to Venezuela Vu Trung My, on the occasion of the conclusion of his term.

The ceremony was held with great solemnity, attended by representatives of the Venezuelan Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ambassadors of ASEAN countries, and staff of the Vietnamese Representative Missions in Venezuela.
Speaking at the ceremony, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez highly appreciated the positive and effective contributions of Ambassador Vu Trung My in promoting and deepening the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam.
She emphasised that during his tenure from April 2023 to the present, the Ambassador has played a crucial role in strengthening the ties between the two countries across all channels: Party, State, National Assembly, and people-to-people exchanges.

Regarding bilateral cooperation, Venezuelan leader noted that the two countries currently maintain numerous bilateral cooperation agreements. Based on the successful results of the official visit to Venezuela last June by Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, both sides have agreed on a cooperation agenda, actively negotiating over 30 new cooperation agreements in preparation for the upcoming Intergovernmental Committee meeting in November, focusing on key areas such as energy, telecommunications, defense, security, culture, and particularly agriculture.
On this occasion, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez emphasised that the government and people of Venezuela always cherish and highly value the solidarity, support, and sincere assistance of Vietnam, as demonstrated during the recent earthquake disaster in Venezuela.
Sharing her fond impressions and admiration for Vietnam's remarkable developments during her visit to Vietnam in October 2024, Acting President Delcy affirmed that Vietnam remains a steadfast pillar and model of resilience in defending independence and sovereignty; she also expressed confidence that Ambassador Vu Trung My, in any capacity, will continue to be a strong bridge of friendship between the two nations.

For his part, Ambassador Vu Trung My expressed his great honour in receiving the Francisco de Miranda Order – a prestigious award from the Venezuelan State. The Ambassador sincerely thanked the invaluable support and assistance from the Party, State, Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and relevant agencies of Venezuela throughout his tenure.
The Ambassador affirmed that the First Class Francisco de Miranda Order is not only a reward for him personally but, above all, a recognition from the Party, State, and people of Venezuela towards the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, for the traditional friendship, comprehensive partnership, and the excellent development achievements of the bilateral relations.
The Ambassador emphasised that, in any future capacity, he will continue to strive to be a bridge, contributing to fostering solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive, substantive cooperation between the Party, State, and people of Vietnam and Venezuela.

| Named after Grand Marshal Francisco de Miranda (1750-1816) – honoured as the “Precursor” (El Precursor) of Latin American independence, the Francisco de Miranda Order (Orden Francisco de Miranda) is one of the highest honours of the Venezuelan State, established to honor individuals with particularly outstanding contributions to the defense and construction of Venezuela, as well as to the development of friendship between Venezuela and countries worldwide. |
