The Standing Member of the Secretariat expressed gratitude for the valuable support and assistance from generations of Cambodian leaders and people to Vietnam in its past struggle for national independence and in the current efforts to build and defend the nation.

Politburo Tran Cam Tu highly appreciated the close cooperation between the two governments, expressing belief that under the leadership of the CPP Party led by Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the Cambodian Government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, the relationship between the two Parties and governments will continue to develop.

Prime Minister Hun Manet warmly welcomed Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and the high-level Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Cambodia; congratulated Vietnam on recently consolidating its high-level leadership apparatus following the 14th Party Congress and the 16th National Assembly elections, and expressed confidence that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by General Secretary and President To Lam, Vietnam will achieve double-digit growth, fulfilling its goal of becoming a modern industrialized, upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income developed socialist country by 2045.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet extended his warmest congratulations to General Secretary and President To Lam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on their new responsibilities following the election by the 16th National Assembly.

Both sides agreed that the state visit to Cambodia, co-chairing the meeting between the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Central Standing Committee of the CPP, and the meeting between the leaders of the three Parties of Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos by General Secretary and President To Lam in February 2026, has contributed to enhancing political trust, strengthening strategic cooperation, and opening up many important cooperation directions in the new phase, while also strengthening solidarity and close ties between Vietnam-Cambodia and Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos for the benefit of the people of each country, for peace, stability, and development in the region.

The two leaders informed each other about the situation in their respective countries and agreed that in the context of complex and unpredictable global and regional developments, the cooperative and close relationship between Vietnam-Cambodia and Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam needs to be further strengthened more than ever.

Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu expressed joy at the increasingly consolidated and developed relationship between the two Parties and governments; affirmed that Vietnam consistently values and prioritizes the strengthening and development of traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia, considering it an invaluable common asset of the two nations, strategically significant for the stability and development of each country.

To further consolidate and deepen the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between the two Parties and countries, both sides agreed to continuously strengthen political trust, concretize the results of the state visit by General Secretary and President To Lam and the results of the meeting of the two Parties' Standing Committees in February 2026, including the construction and signing of a joint action program to implement high-level commitments and agreements between the two countries.

The two leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in education and training, especially in training high-quality human resources. Both sides agreed to strengthen coordination in combating crime, including cross-border crime; strive to complete border demarcation and marker planting, and jointly build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and sustainably developing border.

Both sides also agreed to promote propaganda and education on the traditional friendship, solidarity, and mutual assistance between the two countries and promote people-to-people exchanges, especially strengthening ties between the youth of the two countries, thereby consolidating the social foundation, fostering friendly sentiments, and creating sustainable consensus and support from the people of both countries for the development of Vietnam-Cambodia relations.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat proposed that both sides closely coordinate in preparing and organizing activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2027), thereby honoring the great historical values of the traditional friendship, solidarity, and mutual assistance between the two countries, and preserving the value of solidarity and connection – an invaluable asset for future generations.
