WVR - Spouse of General Secretary and President To Lam Ngo Phuong Ly, along with spouse of Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing Kyu Kyu Hla, visited Van Phuc Silk Village to experience fabric ring making and play the traditional Vietnamese game "o an quan".

| On the morning of September 5, as part of the official visit to Vietnam by Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing and his spouse Kyu Kyu Hla, spouse of General Secretary and President To Lam, Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, accompanied Madam Kyu Kyu Hla to visit Van Phuc Silk Village in Ha Dong Ward, Hanoi. |

| The first stop for the two ladies was the courtyard of the Ancestor Worship Temple, which preserves the memory of the silk weaving craft that has existed for over 1,000 years in the village. |

| Madam Ngo Phuong Ly and Madam Kyu Kyu Hla also joined students from weaving families in experiencing silk ring threading. |

| Madam Kyu Kyu Hla shared that the loom felt very familiar and close to her, as looms have been a part of Myanmar life for thousands of years. From these looms, fabrics and silks have been produced, creating the traditional htamein and paso of Myanmar people. |

| Madam Ngo Phuong Ly shared that both Vietnam and Myanmar are renowned for their traditional crafts, especially silk weaving. Women from both countries not only skillfully create exquisite silks but also preserve and pass down cultural beauty through time. |

| According to Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, the two countries not only share similarities in weaving but are also enhancing each other's cultural values through exchanges and sharing experiences. She cited lotus silk, a Myanmar innovation, which has been introduced to Vietnam—where lotus is found nationwide—to create ao dai that honour the beauty of Vietnamese women. |

| Leaving the Ancestor Worship Temple area, the two ladies strolled through the village and visited a silk weaving facility, a center for silk product preservation and development. |

| Madam Ngo Phuong Ly shared that the village now has over 200 households, serving not only as a production site but also as a display and introduction venue for products, attracting many visitors. Through this, Vietnamese silk products have entered modern life, spreading both domestically and internationally. |

| Madam Ngo Phuong Ly and Madam Kyu Kyu Hla spent considerable time at the Vun Art Cooperative space, where over 40 special artisans breathe life into recycled silk pieces, creating silk collage paintings. Despite their disabilities, each stitch and piece they create embodies pride, showing that even with life's imperfections, beauty can still be crafted. |

| The two ladies expressed their emotions, warmly inquiring and encouraging those present. Madam Kyu Kyu Hla, a former university lecturer, expressed her desire to visit Vun Art whenever she visits Vietnam. Appreciating the labour achievements of these special artisans, the spouse of the Myanmar President offered a gift in return when the cooperative expressed their intention to give her favourite products. |

| Concluding the activities with cups of tea, Madam Kyu Kyu Hla expressed her gratitude to Madam Ngo Phuong Ly for the warm reception and the meaningful program.
