To meet the target, the province focuses on improving product quality, diversifying designs, and expanding markets to ensure sustainable export growth.

Despite challenges in 2024, including a slow recovery for some businesses, the province achieved a record export turnover of 1.8 billion USD, surpassing its target by 300 million USD.

Key contributors included seafood exports at 910 million USD (up 0.58%) and rice exports at 798 million USD (up 70.57%), while garment exports declined by 31.25%.

The significant growth in rice exports was driven by higher production, reaching nearly 1.3 million tons, and improved quality, boosting international demand.

The province’s rice now enjoys a stronger reputation, contributing to the broader Vietnamese Rice brand on the global stage.

In the coming time, the province plans to enhance its specialty rice varieties, build a robust rice brand, and adopt scientific market approaches to expand exports further.

With favourable market conditions and competitive pricing, Soc Trang’s rice exports are expected to continue thriving in the coming years.
