Also in attendance were Mr. Bui Khac Son, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association, former Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; Mr. Doan Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and former Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan; Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, Editor-in-Chief of the World and Vietnam Report, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Standing Member of the Association.

On the Japanese side, there were Mr. Nishimura Teiichi, President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region; Mr. Motonori Tsuno, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); Mr. Keiichi Hasegawa, Director of Ehle Institute...

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh, Vice President of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh shared that he, along with many members of the Association such as Mr. Doan Xuan Hung and Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, have spent time working in Japan, thus deeply feeling the close and friendly ties between the two nations.

“Currently, the relations between the two countries are at their highest level, within the framework of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” Mr. Nguyen Phu Binh emphasized.

The Vice President also expressed gratitude for the persistent and effective support that the Japanese Government and people have provided to Vietnam over the years, especially during difficult periods of natural disasters, socio-economic development, and within the framework of international cooperation. He also appreciated the role of Japanese businesses, organizations, and individuals, including many members of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region, in promoting investment, people-to-people exchange, and supporting the Vietnamese community in Japan.

On the Japanese side, Mr. Nishimura Teiichi, President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region, expressed gratitude for the warm reception from Vietnam. He extended his wishes for the Vietnamese people to quickly overcome the aftermath of natural disasters in the central region and shared that the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region has a history of over 30 years, closely linked to the establishment of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka.

Mr. Nishimura emphasized that over the past three decades, the Association has consistently served as a bridge for exchange and cooperation between localities, businesses, and people of the two countries. The President of the Association is confident that in the context of bilateral relations being elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, economic, cultural, and human exchanges will continue to expand and deepen, contributing to building a more sustainable and long-lasting Vietnam-Japan relationship.

Referring to the Osaka World Expo 2025, Mr. Nishimura praised the prominent presence of the Vietnamese pavilion, which attracted a large number of visitors and helped promote the image and culture of Vietnam to the people of the land of cherry blossoms. Accordingly, in the coming time, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region will continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka in organizing the Vietnam Festival – an annual cultural event eagerly awaited by local residents.

At the reception, delegates highly appreciated the valuable contributions of the two Friendship Associations to the people-to-people relations between the two countries through numerous public diplomacy and cultural exchange activities. They also expressed confidence that the relationship between the two Associations will become increasingly sustainable and closer.

The reception took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, clearly demonstrating the determination of both sides to continue promoting the role of people's organizations in fostering understanding, cooperation, and close ties between the people of Vietnam and Japan.
