Strengthening people-to-people diplomacy, connecting the Vietnamese community in Kansai, Japan: Consul General
WVR - On September 30, at the headquarters of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, Consul General Nguyen Truong Son received a delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, during their visit and work in Japan.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the situation of the Vietnamese community in the Kansai region, efforts to mobilize and gather overseas Vietnamese, and the role of the diaspora in fostering connections, exchanges, and promoting Vietnam-Japan cooperation in general, and between Da Nang and Japanese localities in particular.
Consul General Nguyen Truong Son stated that the Consulate General always considers community work and people-to-people diplomacy as crucial tasks. He expressed the desire to strengthen coordination with localities, associations, and the Vietnamese community in Kansai, enhancing their role as a bridge in Vietnam-Japan relations.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese community in Japan and affirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City aims to strengthen connections with associations, businesses, intellectuals, and the younger generation of Vietnamese in Japan. This effort seeks to leverage the resources of the diaspora and expand people-to-people exchange activities between Da Nang and Japanese localities.

Representing the Vietnamese community in Kansai, Ms. Le Thuong proposed enhancing people-to-people diplomacy activities, including organizing the Great National Unity Day in Japan. According to her, this event would provide a space for the community to meet, connect, and spread the spirit of homeland orientation, while also strengthening ties between Vietnamese associations in Japan and localities in Vietnam.
The delegates agreed to continue enhancing exchanges and coordination in community activities, leveraging the resources of the diaspora, and expanding people-to-people exchange programs, contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
Previously, on September 29, the delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City visited and worked in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.
