During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed delight at Zimbabwe's recent developments and congratulated Zimbabwe on successfully assuming the rotating Chairmanship of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for the 2024 – 2025 term.

The Deputy Minister affirmed Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation, and diversification of international relations, emphasising the importance of developing relations with African nations, including Zimbabwe.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang appreciated the appointment of the Special Presidential Investment Advisor to Vietnam, reflecting the African nation's determination to develop economically and its regard for Vietnam.
Ambassador Constance Chemwayi congratulated Vietnam on successfully organising the 80th National Day Celebration on September 2, thanked the warm reception for diplomatic delegations, and expressed strong admiration for the resilient and patriotic spirit of the Vietnamese people.
She affirmed that Zimbabwe has a traditional friendship with Vietnam, values Vietnam's support, and hopes for continued close cooperation to maintain excellent political relations, enhance economic cooperation, investment, and mutual support on international forums.

Thanking the warm sentiments from the Ambassador and the Special Presidential Investment Advisor towards Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang shared that the Vietnamese Government prioritises accessing new markets like the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The Vietnamese Government will further promote cooperation with these regions and Zimbabwe, especially in high-level delegation exchanges, sharing development experiences, and seeking trade and investment cooperation opportunities.
On this basis, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to support and act as a bridge for Zimbabwe to connect with Vietnamese agencies, localities, and businesses, transforming excellent political relations into tangible economic cooperation results for the benefit of the people of both nations.
