In Cam Lo district's Cam Tuyen commune, one of Quang Tri’s poorer areas, authorities are prioritising support for ethnic minority households, particularly those from the Bru Van Kieu group.

Five homes have been listed for urgent rebuilding or repairs, with 70 million VND (2,800 USD) funded by the central government and 20 million VND from family contributions.

In nearby Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district, 31 unsafe homes were identified. Repairs have been completed on several, with seven more under construction.

Provincial figures reveal that Quang Tri still has over 7,300 households in need of housing assistance. As of Q1 2025, nearly 900 homes have been completed and about 1,900 more are under construction.

Nguyen Long Hai, Secretary of the Quang Tri Party Committee, highlighted the elimination of unsafe houses for poor and policy-beneficiary households as a top priority, adding that the province aims to finish the task by June 30.

Likewise, Hue city has also joined the nationwide effort, setting July 30 as the deadline. Under its housing plan, households receive 60 million VND for a new home and 30 million VND for a repaired one.

In Thuan An ward alone, 15 houses are being repaired with an assistance of 40 million VND for each, sourced from both central and district budgets.

Although there are still over 1,400 cases of substandard housing, Hue’s leaders remain confident of meeting their target.
