During the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts and positive contributions of the Republic of Korea Ambassador in coordinating to promote the practical and effective development of bilateral relations in various fields.

The Prime Minister expressed his delight that Vietnam – Republic of Korea relations are at their best development stage, with political trust continuously being strengthened, especially following high-level visits in 2025 by General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Republic of Korea National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik.

Discussing Vietnam's development orientation following the 14th National Congress, the Prime Minister stated that Vietnam aims for an average GDP growth rate of 10% or more annually during the 2026-2030 period.

To achieve the goal of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045, Vietnam focuses on addressing institutional bottlenecks, developing the private economy, and identifying breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

To further promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Prime Minister suggested both sides strive to soon reach a trade turnover of $100 billion and aim for $150 billion by 2030 in a balanced manner; encouraging Republic of Korea businesses to expand investment in semiconductor, core technology, and renewable energy sectors...

Particularly, in light of the complex security developments in the Middle East, the Prime Minister proposed that the two countries closely cooperate to address current challenges, especially in ensuring national energy security, maintaining economic development, and stabilizing people's livelihoods.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also suggested that the Republic of Korea share its experience in energy management, develop alternative fuel sources, and encourage increased investment in Vietnam's key energy infrastructure projects to enhance economic resilience and resistance to external shocks.

The Republic of Korea Ambassador expressed strong agreement with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposals; committing to do his utmost to coordinate with Vietnam's ministries and sectors to effectively implement high-level leaders' agreements.

The Ambassador stated that he is actively engaging with the Republic of Korea Government and energy corporations to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in ensuring energy security, affirming that he will continue to be a bridge to promote deeper, more substantive, and effective bilateral relations.
