The statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Moscow is a historical and cultural landmark, symbolizing the profound friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. It was inaugurated on May 18, 1990, to commemorate the 100th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, and is located at Ho Chi Minh Square, Akademichesky District, Moscow.

The work was designed by sculptor Vladimir Efimovich Tsigal and architect Roman Grigoryevich Kananin. Sculptor Tsigal, after visiting Vietnam in 1985, was inspired by the image of the Sun and bamboo – symbols of the vitality and resilience of the Vietnamese people – to create a unique design for the statue.

The main statue is cast in bronze and stone, depicting President Ho Chi Minh with a gentle smile within a large circle symbolizing the radiant Sun. At the base of the statue is the image of a young Vietnamese man poised to rise, with two bamboo trees and tropical fruits behind him, representing the strength and resilience of the Vietnamese nation.

On the pedestal of the statue is inscribed in Russian: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", a famous quote by President Ho Chi Minh, reflecting the patriotic spirit and aspiration for freedom of the Vietnamese people.

The memorial consists of a dark red porphyry stone block, adorned with a laurel branch and a helmet placed on a bronze flag. In front is a five-pointed star made of labradorite stone, from which the Eternal Flame burns, lit from the flame at Mars Field in Leningrad, symbolizing the everlasting memory of those who fell. Below the flame is the bronze inscription: "Your name is unknown, your deed is immortal."
