WVR - On the morning of February 8, President Luong Cuong and his spouse, along with representatives from central ministries, departments, Hanoi city, and 100 distinguished overseas Vietnamese delegates, participated in the incense offering ceremony at Ngoc Son Temple and the carp release at Hoan Kiem Lake.

The event was organized as part of the "Homeland Spring 2026" Program – an annual initiative by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in collaboration with the Hanoi People's Committee.

The program aims to affirm and spread the spirit of national unity, emphasizing that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the nation, always connected and accompanying the country. It reflects the Party and State's care for overseas Vietnamese, igniting patriotism, encouraging the preservation of cultural identity, traditions, and the Vietnamese language, while also strengthening trust and the aspiration to contribute to the country's sustainable development in the new era.

In a solemn atmosphere, the President, his spouse, and the delegates reverently offered incense in memory of King Ly Thai To and the ancestors who contributed to the establishment and defense of Thang Long – Hanoi, preserving the nation's thousand-year-old cultural and historical values. The delegates also expressed their wishes for national peace and prosperity, and informed the ancestors about the reunion of overseas Vietnamese from various countries and territories worldwide.

Following that, the President and his spouse, along with the overseas Vietnamese delegation, participated in the carp release ceremony at Hoan Kiem Lake. This activity took place close to the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month – a traditional occasion for bidding farewell to the Kitchen Gods, symbolized by the image of carp transforming into dragons, representing perseverance, resilience, and the aspiration for success.

In the warm and friendly atmosphere of celebrating the Party and the New Spring, President Luong Cuong and his spouse warmly inquired about the work and life of the overseas Vietnamese community. They expressed gratitude for their continuous connection to the homeland and extended New Year wishes for peace, prosperity, and success to all.
