Politburo Member, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung receives Japan's Governor of Nara Prefecture
WVR - On September 6, in Hue City, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung received Yamashita Makoto, Governor of Nara Prefecture, Japan, on the occasion of the Governor's participation in the second Vietnam-Japan Local Cooperation Forum.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed thanks and highly appreciated Governor Yamashita Makoto's participation in the Forum. Minister Le Hoai Trung affirmed that local cooperation is an effective channel for implementing high-level commitments and agreements and for strengthening the bond and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Appreciating the positive cooperative relationship between Nara Prefecture and Vietnamese localities, the Foreign Minister urged Nara Prefecture to continue encouraging businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to expand investment and business cooperation in Vietnam; enhance technology transfer, and train high-quality human resources; and promote cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transition, and other areas of strength of the prefecture.

The Foreign Minister expressed gratitude and hoped that the Nara Prefecture administration would continue to pay attention, support, and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in the prefecture. He also urged Nara Prefecture to continue strengthening cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especially as Vietnam enters a new phase of development. On this occasion, the Minister congratulated the Asuka-Fujiwara heritage site in Nara Prefecture on being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage. The Minister affirmed that, with Vietnam's position in the region and internationally, Vietnam will continue to cooperate to contribute further to Japan's development.

Governor Yamashita Makoto expressed his pleasure at being invited to the Forum and being received by Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung; he highly valued the significance of the Forum in promoting connections and expanding cooperation between localities of the two countries; and shared his impression of Vietnam's dynamic development. The Governor noted that the community of over 5,200 Vietnamese people is the largest among foreign communities living, studying, and working in Nara, contributing positively to the prefecture's socio-economic development. The Governor affirmed that the Nara administration will continue to pay attention to, support, and create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Nara.
Agreeing with Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung's opinions and proposals, Governor Yamashita affirmed that the Nara Prefecture administration values and wishes to further expand cooperation with Vietnam, enhancing connections between the governments, businesses, and people of both sides, thereby contributing to the development of the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
