At the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung expressed his delight at the positive and substantive development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Australia, including effective cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs both bilaterally and at regional and international forums. The Minister suggested that both sides continue to coordinate in preparing high-level exchanges and contacts to further consolidate political trust; expedite the implementation of commitments and agreements; promote cooperation in the Mekong sub-region development; and hoped that Australian leaders would arrange to attend the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Vietnam from June 9-10.

Australian Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade Jan Adams congratulated Vietnam on its significant achievements in recent times; highly appreciated the keynote speech by General Secretary and President To Lam at the Shangri-La Dialogue, particularly expressing agreement with Vietnam's views on enhancing preventive diplomacy capabilities in the region. She affirmed that the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is ready to accompany and support Vietnam in achieving its development goals; supporting Vietnam in assuming the role of CPTPP Chair in 2026 and hosting APEC in 2027.

Secretary Jan Adams hoped that Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung would arrange a visit to Australia and co-chair the 8th Foreign Ministers' Conference in the near future; appreciated the role of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordinating the organization of the "Meet Australia" event in Ho Chi Minh City recently, contributing to enhancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides highly valued the timely implementation of the Action Program for the 2024-2027 Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across various fields; agreed to further deepen the economic cooperation pillar, striving to soon realize the goal of bringing bilateral trade turnover to 20 billion USD. They also agreed to expand cooperation in technology, strategic minerals, digital economy, and other areas of mutual interest; continue to closely coordinate and support each other at regional and international forums, maintaining ASEAN's central role, contributing to promoting dialogue, cooperation, peace, stability, and development.
