During the phone talks, the Foreign Ministers of Algeria and Namibia congratulated Minister Le Hoai Trung on being approved by the 16th National Assembly to continue serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
On behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung extended best wishes to Minister Ahmed Attaf and the people of Algeria on the occasion of the Muslim festival Eid al-Adha, affirming that despite geographical distance, Vietnam and Algeria are always connected by historical similarities and a shared aspiration for peace, national independence, and prosperous development. Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized that in its development process, Vietnam consistently values its relationships with traditional friends in Africa, including Algeria, and desires to promote substantial and effective bilateral relations in all fields.
The two Foreign Ministers expressed their delight at the development of bilateral relations in various fields, especially since the two sides officially upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Partnership in November 2025. They agreed to closely coordinate to successfully organize high-level delegation exchanges in the near future and effectively implement cooperation content between the two countries, in line with the Vietnam-Algeria Strategic Partnership framework.

Regarding cooperation in investment and energy, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung proposed that both sides effectively implement cooperation agreements between the Vietnam Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) and the Algerian National Oil Company (Sonatrach). He also requested Algeria to continue facilitating PVEP's effective operations in Algeria. In terms of agricultural cooperation, the two Ministers welcomed the specific implementations by relevant agencies of both sides to fulfill the commitments of high-level leaders of the two countries on agricultural cooperation. They agreed to promote the visit of the Algerian Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries to Vietnam in 2026 to create breakthroughs in cooperation.
Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf affirmed that, based on the historical ties of the two friendly countries, Algeria will promote cooperation with Vietnam, especially in investment, energy, agriculture, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed his impression with the positive results achieved by the two countries through recent delegation exchanges and confirmed that Algeria always holds Vietnam in high regard and prioritizes cooperation in bilateral fields, as well as supporting Vietnam in multilateral forums.

During the phone talks with Namibian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister Le Hoai Trung recalled the historical solidarity between the two peoples, founded on the relationship between the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) and the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Minister proposed that both sides further enhance political trust through delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels. Emphasizing the geographical and developmental similarities shared by the two countries, Minister Le Hoai Trung suggested that both sides coordinate to identify appropriate mechanisms and measures to further expand cooperation in potential fields such as economy, trade, and investment. He also requested Namibia to support Vietnam in negotiating a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the Southern African Customs Union (SACU).

Minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi expressed her pleasure at the first phone talks with Minister Le Hoai Trung, affirming that Namibia always values its good traditional friendship with Vietnam. She expressed high regard for Vietnam's development achievements and hoped that both sides would promote exchanges to enhance trade turnover and strengthen cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, logistics, and production.
Minister Le Hoai Trung also exchanged views with the Foreign Ministers of Algeria and Namibia on international and regional issues of mutual concern. He emphasized that, in the context of numerous international and regional fluctuations, Vietnam and traditional partners like Algeria and Namibia need to enhance exchanges and share perspectives on international issues of mutual interest. They should also strengthen coordination on oceanic issues, sustainable development, and marine ecosystem conservation, while continuing to support each other in multilateral and regional forums, especially at the United Nations, the African Union, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
