According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, a total of 267 patients have gone on to make a full recovery from the deadly virus, with no deaths nationwide.

Among the 58 positive cases under treatment, six have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus once and 4 others twice.

More than 15,412 patients having close contacts with confirmed patients or entering from COVID-19-hit areas are in isolation, including 58 at hospitals, and the rest at concentrated quarantine facilities, and at homes.

Earlier on May 23, a total of 80 Vietnamese citizens who had recently returned to the country from the United States have tested negative for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and successfully finalized their quarantine period in the northern province of Hoa Binh.

After being permitted to leave the quarantine facility, each person will now be kept in quarantine at home as they undergo a further mandatory 14-day isolation period.

The country has recently received a large number of Vietnamese citizens returning from epidemic-hit countries. However, they are all put in quarantine right after their arrival so there is no risk of community transmission.
