WVR - On the morning of March 20, Central Party Member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong led a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Hanoi to extend congratulations on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Welcoming the delegation at the Embassy was Ambassador of Laos to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh, along with all the Embassy staff.

Speaking at the event, Party Central Committee Member, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong on behalf of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, extended the warmest congratulations on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, a historically significant event for the Party, State, and people of Laos.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong, over 71 years of building and development, and 40 years of renovation, under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Laos has achieved significant historical accomplishments in political, economic, cultural-social, and foreign affairs. Laos's role and position have been increasingly elevated in the region and internationally; the people's living standards have continuously improved; political-social stability has been maintained.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed confidence that, under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will continue to achieve new, greater accomplishments in the renovation process, successfully implementing the objectives of the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 10th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan; successfully building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified, and prosperous Laos according to socialist goals.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always cherish and deeply appreciate the sincere support and assistance that the Party, State, and people of Laos have provided to Vietnam in the struggle for national independence as well as in the current nation-building and development efforts. The special Vietnam-Laos relationship is an invaluable asset of the two nations, meticulously nurtured by generations of leaders and people from both countries, and must continue to be preserved, promoted, and passed on to future generations.

Highlighting that 2025 marks a historic development in the relationship between the two countries, as both sides agreed to elevate the Vietnam-Laos relationship to a new height, characterized by "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection", Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong noted that the state visits by high-level leaders of both countries following the success of each Party's National Congress convey a strong political message, a political commitment between the two Parties, and the highest trust between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos; reaffirming our shared determination to prioritize the Vietnam-Laos relationship in the overall foreign policy of each country. The success of these visits has been significantly contributed to by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, the Central Committee's Commission for External Relations of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Deputy Minister, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively coordinating with the Central Committee's Commission for External Relations of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and related agencies to arrange an official visit to Laos by comrade Tran Cam Tu, Permanent Member of the Secretariat, and hopes to continue receiving close and effective cooperation from Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh and the Lao Embassy in Vietnam.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that in the coming time, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam wish to continue close cooperation with the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, the Central Committee's Commission for External Relations of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos, to effectively implement high-level agreements, continuously deepening the cooperative relationship between the two countries in all fields; while enhancing delegation exchanges and coordination at regional and international forums, contributing to maintaining a peaceful, stable, and sustainable development environment.

In 2027, the two countries will coordinate to organize various meaningful and lively activities to commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. The Deputy Minister expressed hope that the Lao Embassy in Vietnam will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam to successfully implement these activities, thereby spreading the deep bond and leaving a positive impression on the officials, party members, and people of both countries, especially the younger generation, about the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos, contributing to effectively fulfilling the tasks assigned by the high-level leaders of the two Parties and countries.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed that the Lao Embassy in Vietnam will continue to closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam to successfully implement the activities commemorating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, contributing to effectively fulfilling the tasks assigned by the high-level leaders of the two Parties and countries, continuously deepening the cooperative relationship between the two countries in all fields.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong wished that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos will continue to flourish, remain evergreen, and last forever.
