During the visit, the Deputy Foreign Minister met with Vice President, Standing Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdec Say Chhum and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Head of the CPP Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department Prak Sokhonn. The Deputy Minister also held meetings with the First Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department CPP Suos Yara and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Cambodia Ung Rachana.

At the meeting, Samdec Say Chhum congratulated Vietnam on its significant achievements in recent times, particularly the impressive economic growth rate of 8.02%. He expressed confidence that under the correct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will continue to achieve even greater accomplishments, aiming to become a high-income developed country by 2045.

Samdec Say Chhum extended greetings to senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, expressing gratitude for Vietnam's consistent support for Cambodia's nation-building and development efforts, as well as its cooperation and support for Cambodia in regional and international forums. He expressed a desire to welcome Vietnamese leaders to visit Cambodia in the near future.

The Head of the Foreign Affairs Department, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Cambodia Prak Sokhonn once again congratulated and highly appreciated the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. He praised Vietnam's significant achievements in organizational reform towards a streamlined, effective, and efficient structure and economic development. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Prak Sokhonn emphasized that these victories reflect the people's trust in the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the recent election victory provides a solid foundation, confidence, and great motivation for the Vietnamese people to continue steering the country to new heights.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed delight at the strong development of Vietnam-Cambodia relations, recalling the positive outcomes achieved at the 21st session of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee (December 2025). He affirmed that high-level visits and interactions have continuously strengthened and enhanced the relations between the two countries, for the common benefit of the peoples of both nations, while also demonstrating the efforts of both sides' leaders to continuously nurture Vietnam-Cambodia relations in the spirit of “Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability”.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong conveyed greetings from Vietnamese leaders to the leaders of the Cambodian Party and State. He affirmed that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam always prioritize and highly value strengthening and enhancing relations with the Cambodian Party, State, and people. He congratulated Cambodia on its achievements in nation-building and development and expressed confidence that Cambodia will continue to achieve even greater and more comprehensive accomplishments, meeting its development goals.

Both sides highly valued the historic outcomes of the state visit to Cambodia by General Secretary To Lam (February 6, 2026), as well as the common understandings reached at the high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of our Party and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee CPP, and the meeting between the leaders of the three Parties of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. They agreed to closely coordinate to effectively implement high-level agreements, especially in promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation, economic connectivity, infrastructure connectivity, and supply chain connectivity.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen Party channel cooperation, thoroughly prepare for high-level visits by Party and State leaders in the near future, and promote the signing of cooperation documents between Party Committees to deepen cooperation between Party Committees.

They also agreed to develop specific plans to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia in 2027, thereby honouring the great historical values of the traditional friendship, solidarity, and mutual assistance between the two countries, and preserving the values of solidarity and attachment as invaluable assets for future generations.
