Military units asked to ensure security and safety for coming Tet and National Party Congress

The Ministry of National Defense has ordered its functional forces to deploy plans to maintain security and safety on the occasion of the coming Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) and the 13th National Party Congress.

On December 30, 2020, at the ministry’s headquarters, General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy-Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense, chaired a meeting to review leadership performance and direction of leaders of the Ministry in the last month of the year of 2020.
At the event, reports underlined that leaders of the Ministry of National Defense led and instructed the entire military to comprehensively fulfill all military and defense missions.
According to them, military units strictly maintained combat readiness posture, closely followed situational developments, actively proposed recommendations for higher levels to deal with any circumstances in a timely and effective manner, and thoroughly prepared for the 13th National Party Congress.
They also carefully prepared and successfully held military-political conferences, ensured weapons and equipment for missions, and effectively conducted external defense relations activities.
They also effectively combated all plots of hostile forces, paid attention to the implementation of logistic, technical, and defense industry work. Furthermore, they attached special importance to improving troops’ material and spiritual lives.
In addition, troops thoroughly showed their firm political stance and high resolve to fulfill all assigned tasks.

In the next month, delegates stressed that the ministry’s leadership would lead the whole military to strictly observe combat readiness regulations, accurately predict arising situations to make timely and valuable recommendations for the Party and State to deal with all circumstances, and ensure security and safety during Tet and at the 13th National Party Congress. Military units will closely work with other forces to prevent illegal immigration to prevent SARS-CoV-2 from entering the country.
They will also focus on reviewing the use of defense-used land in combination with developing local socio-economy according to the State’s laws and the National Assembly’s resolutions; preparing for the 2021 enlistment drive; and holding training courses for new recruits.
Furthermore, military units will seriously implement the building of regularity and military discipline; organize activities for policy beneficiaries prior to the lunar New Year; accelerate the fight against smuggling and trade fraud, promote political and ideological education; and organize activities to disseminate information about the 13th National Party Congress.
They will also make preparations for the deployment of the level-two Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 3 to the United Nation peacekeeping mission in South Sudan and to welcome home the personnel of the L2FH Rotation 2 as scheduled.
