These are all profound symbols of the Buddhist spirit and the core values implied by the United Nations Vesak Festival.
The artistic values and spiritual elements are crystallized in the painting of the Lotus in tranquil pure land, conveying the profound meaning of the philosophy of life "close to the mud but not tainted by its nasty smell” in accordance with the spirit of Buddhism.
On the occasion of the United Nations Vesak Festival 2025 taking place in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh, the printed copy of the Lotus in tranquil pure land painting was honored to be chosen by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha as a gift for President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayaka - a country with a long tradition of Buddhism.
The gift represents the affection and respect between the two countries, and a symbol of cultural and spiritual exchange as well, contributing to strengthening the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Sri Lanka on common values of Buddhism.
Within the framework of the Great Vesak Ceremony, artist Nguyen Thi Kim Duc also presented the print of the Lotus in tranquil pure land painting to delegates from many countries: Mr. Ramin Mammadov - Minister of Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan; His Eminence Sangay Dorji Rinpoche, Bhutan; Mr. Zuraev Igor Ivanovich (Deputy Prime Minister of Buryatia; Head of the Buryat Government representing President Vladimir Putin, Russia) and Venerable Elder Shi Yanjue the current president of the Buddhist Association of China.

Previously, Lotus in tranquil pure land was blessed by His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch, Vice Supreme Patriarch and President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, His Holiness the Prelate Gyalwang Drukpa, Supreme Patriarch of Myanmar Buddhism, and displayed at the 9th National Congress of Buddhist Delegates and the Lotus Vietnam Art Exhibition 2023 - Pure Beauty.
Sharing with The World & Vietnam Report, painter artist Nguyen Thi Kim Duc said that the display of Lotus in tranquil pure land painting in the Buddha's relic area at Quan Su Pagoda on this special occasion was a bless and a rare bestow for her, through which Lotus in tranquil pure land will also contribute a small part in spreading optimism, bringing joy to the people of Hanoi capital who come to worship Buddha's relics.
